Fun in the snow

Last night (Wednesday, Jan.10) we had quite the snowstorm. It started after I got out of class around 7:30. At first, it was just a small flurry. Then all of a sudden everything was white. It happened so fast, and it became difficult to drive. Jessica and I were stuck in Tacoma. We weren't able to cross the bridge to Gig Harbor because it was too dangerous and because traffic was REALLY backed up. It was good for us that Robert no longer lived in Gig Harbor with us so we ended up going to his house to stay the night. His two roommates, Joey and Jason, were home, and they also had Seth over.

We all decided to go out to enjoy the weather, but we had to go in Seth's vehicle since it was better in the snow. At first we went to the Lakewood Town Center and did donuts in the empty parking lots. The snow wasn't as wet so we didn't slide around as much as we wanted, but it was fun nonetheless. When we bored of this, we decided to go driving around the Tacoma area. At one point, we ended up behind a slow vehicle, and Seth started to become a bit irritated. Right when this happened the next song that happened to play was Ludacris's "Move Bitch". Seth was like, "That's so appropriate," and we all started laughing.

It was rediculous how many cars became stranded along the roadways because of all the snow. At one point, we went down a hill that we first thought to be steep. When we actually reached the top of the hill and were able to look down, it only declined gradually. Because of this we thought it wasn't so bad until we started sliding down. Then we saw that a car was stuck at the bottom - in the middle of the road! Seth started moving to get out of the way, but then we started to lose control and slide towards a car parked on the side of the road. We all started screaming because we were approaching it pretty quickly. I thought we were going to crash, but then we started veering away. It still seemed like to were going to at least take out the side mirror, though. I started to brace myself for the sound of the car scraping against each other, but it never came. Somehow Seth completely avoided it. Then we started going towards a car that was coming up the hill. Seth avoided that, too.. along with every other car parked along the sides of the road. When we reached the bottom, we all sighed with relief and then started laughing at having such a close call. I couldn't believe Seth was able to stay so calm and keep complete control with all of us screaming. I'm glad Seth was the one driving.

After that little adventure, we still continued to look around. Eventually, we stopped in one area because there was a lot of snow, and we wanted to have a snow fight. While goofing off and taking pictures, a lady approached us to ask for help. She needed us to show her a safe way to get to the bridge so she could go home in Gig Harbor. We looked around, but unfortunately were unable to find any roads that weren't too steep for her little car to go up. Eventually she just stopped following us, probably to try and find her own way. Then later Seth started driving into the parking lot of a Galaxy 6 theater, and Robert asked what we were doing, to which Seth replied sheepishly, "Going to see a mooovie." Then he started doing donuts in the empty parking lot.

After our fun in the parking lot, we decided to stop by Shari's for a bite to eat. When Seth looked at the menu, he asked, You know what's missing?" and Robert replied, "Alcohol." He was like yeah, and I told him no. Then Joey said, "Oh , here it is. Beer and wine, bitch," and showed Seth where it was on the menu. Jessica ordered some hot chocolate, and when she got it, she was like, "Oh yeah, this is so good. Yeah." She also continued to make moaning sounds, and everyone told her to tell the other side of the restaurant about the hot chocolate so she started getting louder. Then we continued to goof off and re-enact different scenes, especially from Chappelle's Show.

We didn't get home until around 1:30 in the morning. I woke up around 7 a.m. to check the roads to see if I should still open up at the coffee shop. They were still pretty bad so I went back to bed and woke again around 9 a.m. There was some traffic so I got read, but when I got outside I noticed the roads looked weird. When I stepped on the road, I started to slip because it was still completely frozen over. I called my mom to let her know, and then I watched Robert play the XBox. Jessica and Joey woke up and started watching, too. Joey decided to sit on Jessica's lap so I took pictures with my camera. Then Joey felt Jessica's hip bone as he was getting up and said, "Jessica's got a boner!" He then continued to the kitchen and asked, "Why's my nipple wet?"

Robert ended up having to open the coffee shop around 2 p.m. because the roads finally cleared. Our friend David had come over earlier so I watched Boondock Saints with him when Robert went to work since he'd never seen it. Then we just hung out for the rest of the day. Last night was definitely one of the most memorable moments in my life. It may not seem like much when reading it, but if you had been there.. you'd understand just how I feel. Words can't describe just what a night it was.
